Día De Los Muertos

Noise Revolt Presents: Día De Los Muertos

I really wanted to capture as many essences of the culture behind Día De Los Muertos holiday within this poster. While the candy skulls are the most well know representation of this holiday I also added vivid imagery of roses and monarch butterflys. Monarchs travel south for the winter and always arrive in Mexico during Día De Los Muertos. According to traditional belief, the monarchs are the souls of ancestors who are returning to Earth for their annual visit. Roses are also the most common flowers used when celebrating this holiday.
